Las Americas

Playa de las Américas is the party capital of Tenerife, that’s the most important aspect to remember about this lively resort on the south coast of the island. Thousands of revellers live it up in this vibrant and colourful holiday destination that is renowned for its 24-hour festivities, making it one of the most popular places to visit in all of Europe.

Playa de las Americas is more brash than it’s smaller and more peaceful neighbour Los Cristianos. With signs such as “English Pub”, and “No Spanish Food Sold Here” says everything you need to know if you will love or hate this very popular resort, with its English breakfast at noon, sunbathe and swim all afternoon, drink and dance all night culture.

Young people head to Playa de las Américas for its hedonistic appeal, in particular the one kilometre stretch known as Las Verónicas that is packed with nightclubs, cabaret bars, live music venues, shops and restaurants. Neon lights, music pumping from the doorways and people dancing in the street are what you will find here. It really does come alive at night, every night!

There also exists all the bad things surrounding such a kind of places, like cheaters, drugs and prostitution, so I suggest you to be careful, but generally Las Americas it very safe.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, then perhaps Playa de las Américas may not be for you.
